Northern India Journey - Day 5 Srinagar - 17/12/2010

Woke up this morning was so awful to me. I got sick! Being ill in the travel was so bad, I lost my appetite and was in a bad mood. I took Panadol which was obviously not a useful way to cure my sickness. But at least alleviated the syndrome a bit. Actually in the morning, the guide didn't take us to anywhere, as he mentioned, there was a festival of the Sunni Islam. They thought that may not be safe to go ourside.

In the noon, the guide take us to have a shikara ride. That's nice to enjoy a peaceful environment in the Dal Lake. Although the weather was misty as this was winter in the moment, I did like to ride. the boatman showed us the place and saw the market. Suddenly, he berthed the boat aside and told me that he needed to pray in a mosque. Now I could see their passion on their religion; he could leave us and go to pray!

After the shikara ride, we took a car to see the Mughal Gardens in the city. My illness was getting worst in this moment. Shit. The garden were not impressive to me as many places in the garden were under maintenance.. And the time we visit there was winter, the leaves fell and not much greenery for a garden. I hope I could go there again in summer time. (Actually people in our houseboat also suggested us to visit there in summer.)

So the day end up with a bad health condition. What a shame. As we left Kashmir next day afternoon, the drive had recommend us to visit other place on the next day morning. But I rejected. I knew my travel buddy quite wanted to go, but, sorry, I didn't think I could wake up and get well in the morning. Anyway hope he didn't mind.
